In Waves

No not the awesome Trivium album, but something just as awesome. North Carolina’s In Waves are going to be the newest pop-punk/ambient sensation. For immediate fans of Conditions and Saosin, In Waves are looking to expand their fan base across the nation. One of the most interesting things about this band is that the band is made up of guys from four different musical projects, all of which cover a different facet of music. Out of the ashes of metal bands Knives Exchanging Hands and The Lineage (I was just listening to Knives Exchanging Hands the other day and thought to myself, These guys are good, what ever happened to them? LOLZZ) and pop-punk groups My Aim is True and Life Next Year, we get In Waves. If you have any doubts about the credibility or dedication with this band, then you’ve lost your god damn mind.

The band have recently released their debut EP Whispers and is available for purchase on iTunes, Spotify, Zune, Rhapsody, Amazon MP3, iHeartRadio, Google Play, VerveLife, Simfy, Deezer, Nokia…I’ve never even heard of half of these music vendors.

The EP contains five original songs, all of which are absolutely brilliant. Dealing with lyrical themes like women and love, growing up and transitioning through life, nautical themes, etc. this band are making their mark and using their music to declare it with upbeat tempos and larger than life guitars with soaring vocals. They’re developing their own sound and style and should make some pretty big waves (no pun intended) in the next few years if enough people hear this band and get on board with what they’re up to. If you want to have fun next summer and rock out to In Waves while surfing in the waves, then help get this band around so they can be on warped tour or some summer festival.
